Young Horses

Our facilities here at Stateside Farm Belgium give us an ideal environment to educate and develop young horses, whether it is at the breaking in stage, as younger horses or more experienced horses. We accept a limited number of horses at a time in order to be sure that each horse receives as much time as he or she needs to learn and improve.

Our Philosophy

We believe that horses, like people, learn and understand at different rates. While we have our overall system for producing horses, we do not believe that it is a ‘one size fits all’ process. For these reasons, we are particular about working with owners who also have similar mindsets. To achieve our mutual goals of uncovering a horses greatest potential, we allow the horses to dictate the speed at which they learn, careful to find the balance of gaining positive experiences without over exerting the developing bodies of young horses. We believe that the horses mind is its most valuable asset, so careful education in their formative years helps to keep that mindset working with the rider.

Our Services

Horses that are bred and born at Stateside are always welcome for development here, including breaking in and gaining experience at national shows. Young horses are brought in from the fields at 2.5 years old for free jumping and x-rays, at which time we will decide a plan with the owner for that horses development.

Throughout the stages of education, especially as the horses get to five years and older, we are happy to campaign horses to sell for our clients. Our location gives us the luxury of many shows, both national and international, to choose from, so horses that are for sale can get plenty of exposure.

Here at Stateside we know how much time and investment is involved in developing young horses. If you are looking to breed your own foals, or looking to buy foals or young horses in one of that many European auctions, get in touch with us to find out about our full service programs for your young horses.
